Our Wedding Coordinator
Larissa Banting is the only event coordinator in Central America who is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants. For ten years, she produced events of all size in her native Canada before moving to Costa Rica four years ago. Legality
To legally marry in Costa Rica is a simple and straightforward process - no blood tests nor any minimum time on Costa Rican soil is required. All weddings must be conducted by a lawyer, who then files all of the papers with the civil registry as well as your embassy, thus ensuring your marriage is legal and recognized internationally. The lawyer will send you a questionnaire before you come via email, asking for some general information about yourself and your spouse-to-be (i.e. occupation, parent’s names, age, birthplace, etc.) that you fill out and send back with a copy of your passports. During the ceremony, the lawyer will have all the necessary information in a sworn statement that you will sign. After the wedding, he will file the paperwork with your Embassy. Once everything is processed, your Embassy will forward it to you in your hometown. We can also arrange for religious ceremonies from various cultures and denominations.
